2006 3-Series w/sport seat; 2004-2006 5-Series; 2004-2006 X3> Failure of the passenger seat occupant detection sensor deactivates the passenger airbag and turns on the airbag warning light and the passenger airbag “off” indicator light.
2007-2008 Mini Cooper S> Tailpipe extension protrudes beyond the rear bumper and burns a person's leg. Dealers will replace it with a shorter one.
2008 X5 SUV> Rear axle stabilizer installed was a sports-suspension anti-sway bar rather than a standard suspension stabilizer causing over-steer in driving conditions such as fast lane changes at high speed which adversely affects vehicle handling and control.
2008-2009 M3 w/double clutch gearbox> Software glitch in the transmission shifting software causes a multistage downshift and engine stall.
2009 Mini JCW, JCW Clubman> The 16” diameter front brake discs (rather than 17”) have reduced braking performance.
Chrysler
2006 Jeep Commander 4.7L V8> Glitch in the powertrain control module software causes engine stalling.
2006-2009 Charger, Magnum with police package> Column shifter gearshift cable disengages from the steering column mounting bracket causing incorrect transmission gearshift position display allowing the vehicle to move without warning. Dealers will add a redundant locking mechanism to the gearshift cable at the mounting bracket.
2007-08 Jeep Wrangler (right hand drive)> Steering intermediate shaft rubs the rear brake tube causing a partial loss of brakes.
2007-2008 Avenger, Sebring> Short circuit of the tire pressure monitoring system electrical connector(s) causes stall/no-start, dead battery, failed cruise control or remote start system.
2007-2008 Dodge Nitro; 2008 Jeep Liberty (manual transmission)> Distorted parking brake lever clutch drum allows the vehicle to roll away.
2007-2008 RAM 2500, 3500 6.7L Diesel> Hood silencer pad falls down onto the exhaust gas recirculation cooler and catches fire.
2008 300, Charger, Magnum> Lack of self-locking ability for the rear axle hub nuts allows them to loosen and the half shaft to disengage from the hub causing a sudden loss of power.
2008 Commander, Grand Cherokee> Faulty body control module causes engine stall while driving, no start, or windshield wiper failure.
2008 Jeep Liberty> Incorrect adhesive was used in installing the windshield and/or fixed rear quarter glass, allowing it to come loose and cause injury.
2008-2009 Dodge Challenger> The "keyless go" allows the engine to be turned off when the automatic transmission shift selector is on gear, allowing the vehicle to roll away. Dealers will reprogram the ignition node module.
2009 Avenger, Caliber, Journey, Jeep Patriot, Jeep Compass, Sebring> Failure of the PCM circuit board causes unexpected engine stall.
2009 Charger, Challenger, 300> Faulty Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) sensors don’t warn the of low tire pressure.
2009 Dodge Journey 3.5L engine> Engine wiring harness rubs against the left transaxle mount causing an electrical short and electrical fire.

Monarch; 1978-1980 Bronco; 1978-1982 F Series, Light & Medium; 1979 Ranchero; 1979-1980 Granada, Mustang; 1980 Fairmont, Versailles, Zephyr> Intercontinental Auto Parts fuel filter P/N ALG 44/1 & Purolator F10024 crimp on the outlet cap leaks fuel.
1992-1993 E-150 – E350; 1992-1995 Lincoln Town Car; 1992-1998 Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis; 1992-2003 Econoline; 1993 Bronco; 1993 F150 – F450; 1993-1995 Taurus SHO; 1994-2003 E-150 – E350; 1995-1997 Super Duty Stripped Chassis> The previous recall for the cruise control deactivation switch shorting out and causing an electrical fire was done improperly. The fuse was installed in the ground rather than the power circuit and provided no protection if the switch shorts out.
2005-2006 F-150, Lincoln Mark LT (5.4L 3-valve engine)> Vacuum supply hose for the brake booster swells up and detaches from the intake manifold from an intake manifold backfire causing loss of the power brakes.
2005-2008 Mustang> Small unbelted passenger can suffer neck injury from airbag deployment. Dealers will reprogram the restraint module.
2006-2007 E150 – E350; 2007 Expedition, Navigator with 5.4L Engines> Weak fuel rail cross-over hose develops cracks which leaks fuel and could cause an underhood fire.
2007-2008 Expedition Navigator> Weak spring for the interior door handle latch on all the side doors prevents these doors from staying latched and they may fly open during a crash.
2008 E-350 Vans w/138” wheel base> Drive shaft slip yoke fractures and the driveshaft drops down and digs into the road causing loss of control.
2008 Edge Lincoln MKK AWD> Improper spot weld dimples the bottom of the gas tank causing it to leak fuel.
2008 Expedition, Navigator w/limo package> Tire pressure monitoring system indicator light doesn’t illuminate when the pressure is 25% below the value stated on the tire placard label.
2008 F250 to F550> Captain’s chair and 40% split seats failed the DOT crash testing when the welds on the frame and seat back pivot broke. Dealers will add reinforcement or replace the seat back frame.
2008 F-250, F-350 single rear wheel 4X4, 156” WB w/2- piece drive shaft> During 30 mph crash test the fuel tank fuel delivery module hits the frame and leaks fuel.
2008-2009 F-650, F-750 w/C7, C9 Caterpillar diesel> Cracked fuel pump outlet check plug causes fuel to spray and leak which could result in a fire.
General Motors
1997-2003 Grand Prix. Regal 3.8L SC V-6> Motor oil leaks and puddles on the engine, and during hard braking it runs below the heat shield and onto the exhaust manifold where it can catch fire and ignite the plastic spark plug wire channel causing an underhood fire. Owners are recommended: (1) do not park indoors, (2) If a burning odor is smelled the vehicle should be checked for leaks, (3) Use 91 octane or higher fuel.
2000-2002 Blazer; 2000-2001 GMC Jimmy; 2000 Bravada SUV> Circuit failure in the steering column multifunction switch causes loss of stop and rear hazard lamps function.
2003 HUMMER H2> Water enters the windshield wiper motor module causing loss of windshield wiper function. Dealers will replace the windshield wiper module cover.
2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe> Front door power window bolts come loose and the door glass separates from the window regulator, binds and shatters during operation.
2004 Cadillac SRX> Failure of the shift interlock allows the shift lever to be moved from "park" with the ignition off increasing the risk of unintended vehicle rollaway. Dealers will replace the shift assembly pawl stopper and a bushing
2006 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana vans> Failure of the seat belt buckles to latch properly or to unlatch.
2006 HUMMER H1 Alpha> Rear propeller shaft U-joint contacts the fuel tank causing a leak. Dealers will install a modified fuel tank and new rear side shield.
2006-2008 Buick Lucerne, Cadillac DTS, HUMMER H2; 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL, Saturn Outlook; 2008 Buick Enclave> Short circuit in the wiper washer fluid heater overheats the circuit ground wire causing an underhood electrical fire. Note: This can happen when the vehicle is parked. Dealers will install an in-line fuse. See Motor Minutes “Hotshot”.
2006-2008 Chevrolet HHR w/o optional roof rail air bags> Vehicles fail to provide impact protection to meet DOT requirements. Dealers will install an energy-absorbing plastic piece to the headliner trim.
2006-2008 Chevrolet HHR> The door on the storage bin in the top center of the instrument panel opened up during crash testing. Owners will be mailed latch reinforcement.
2008 Buick Enclave; 2007-2008 GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook (only salt belt states)> Snow & ice buildup on the windshield wipers causes the lever to come off the motor shaft. Dealers will install a new wiper crank arm and driver's side link.
2008 Cadillac STS, STS-V> Failure of the tire pressure monitoring system to detect low tire pressure.
2008 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana (AWD)> Transfer case drive chain breaks and therefore allows the vehicle to roll with the gear shifter in the park position.
2008 Chevrolet Kodiak, GMC Topkick w/Caterpillar C9 diesel> Cracked fuel pump outlet check plug causes fuel to spray and leak which could result in a fire.
2008 Express, Savana G-Cutaway Fleet vans> 1) Some vehicle drivetrain setups cause damage to the transmission it the gear selector is shifted into D1 and the engine will stall or engine shutdown occurs if the van is driven over 81 MPH. 2) Frame rail on the driver's side on vans with a 139” wheelbase comes in contact with the gas tank causing it to leak.
2008 Saturn VUE with 6-speed 6T70 automatic transmission> parking pawl pivot pin breaks the case bore which lets the pawl to move out of place and unlocks the drivetrain allowing the vehicle to roll away. Dealers will replace the transmission.
2008-2009 Saturn Vue> Nut securing the power steering line to the pump comes loose causing a fluid leak and engine fire.
2009 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook> Seat belt buckle in the 2nd or 3rd row is missing a rivet and may separate from the mounting strap in a crash.
2009 Cadillac CTS> Software glitch in the passenger sensing system module causes malfunction of the front passenger air bag.
2009 Impala> During a deployment the passenger-side front air bag inflator fractures at the inflator tube and pieces of the tube can injure the occupant and the air bag fails to properly inflate.
2009 Malibu Hybrid> Mode selector for the HVAC system sticks in the last programmed setting preventing the blower from providing sufficient airflow to clear the windshield of fog or frost to maintain driver visibility. Dealers will reprogram the HVAC control module
2009 Saturn Vue> The tie rod ball stud could split open the tie rod housing or it could pull free from the steering knuckle, causing the tie rod to separate from the knuckle causing a loss of steering control.
Honda
2001 Accord, Civic> Airbag propellant ruptures the inflator and propels metal fragments through the airbag into the occupant.
2003 Accord> Water gets in the windshield wiper motor vent port and corrodes the wiper motor causing the circuit breaker in the housing to fails and the wiper motor stops working. Dealers will inspect and replace any corroded units, and install a snorkel tube to direct water away.
2004-2005 Acura TL> Water gets in the windshield wiper motor vent port and corrodes the wiper motor causing the circuit breaker in the housing to fails and the wiper motor stops working. Dealers will inspect and replace any corroded units, and install a snorkel tube to direct water away.
2004-2008 Acura TL> Hot under-hood temps cause the power steering hose to crack and leak fluid onto the catalytic converter causing an under-hood fire. Dealers will install a heat resistant hose.
2008 Element> Broken weld on the front bushing bracket portion of the rear suspension left trailing arm allows the trailing arm wheel mounting hub to come loose causing loss of vehicle control and damage to the brake system.
2008-2009 Civic> Bracket covering the fuel hose connector is missing a bolt and can come loose in a crash and damage the connector resulting in a fuel leak.
Hyundai
2001 Elantra> Liquid is spilled from the center console cup holder contaminates the air bag control module wiring harness preventing the driver and passenger frontal air bags or seat mounted side impact air bags fro deploying. Dealers will install a protective cover over the vehicle's air bag control module connector
2001-2002 Elantra> Poor connection of the under the seats driver and passenger seat mounted side impact air bag wiring harness(s) prevents deployment in a crash. Dealers will install new side impact air bag wiring harness connector clips and revised side impact air bag wiring harness attachments.
2006-2008 Azera, 2006-2008 Sonata> Replacement headlamp assemblies fail to conform to dot motor vehicle safety standards.
2006-2008 Sonata> Seat occupant classification system fails to recognize a small adult passenger for proper airbag deployment. Dealers will remove the right front seat cushion assembly and send it to be evaluated and reprogrammed.
2007-2008 Santa Fe, Veracruz> Circuit board in the trailer hitch wiring harness converter module (mounted to the top surface of the rear bumper reinforcement) become short circuited from water getting inside which causes an electrical fire. Note: This recall supersedes a previous recall (08E016) conducted for a short circuit caused by a faulty capacitor.
2007-2008 Santa Fe> P235/60R18 TIRES are incorrectly listed on the gross axle weight ratings label.
2008 Elantra 2.0> Failure of the fuel pump causes engine stall, hesitation, no start.

2009 XF> Broken instrument cluster speaker wires prevent audible warning notifications for the turn indicator, seat belt warning, lights 'on' warning, driver's door open with key in ignition, driver intervene (adaptive cruise control vehicles only) and seat memory.
2009 XF> Rear safety belt D-ring assembly prevents proper restraint in a crash.

2008-2009 Rondo LX, EX 2.4 Engine> Failure of the fuel pump causes engine hesitation, stalling, no start.

2007-2008 Mazda6> The PVC protective coating on the bottom of the metal gas tank was damaged during assembly which leads to corrosion and a potential leak.

1998-2003 M-Class> Hose clamp for the power steering hose at the P/S cooler leaks fluid which can cause loss of power assist and loss of steering control if the pump seizes up. Note: This was also a previous recall 03V121.

2006-2008 GL, ML with Flex-N-Gate trailer hitch> Failure of the welds between the trailer hitch receiver and attachment bar let the receiver break off the attachment bar.
2007 E211, GLX164, M164, R251 Diesel> Crankshaft sensor fails from separation of the wires from the sensor causing sudden loss of power and no restart.
2007 S-Class> Front strut radial steering knuckle fails on high mileage cars or when subjected to rough roads causing a loss of steering control.
2008 CL & S-Class> Failure of the transistors in the front body control module (SAM-F) causes loss of windshield wipers.
2008 GL-Class, M-Class, R-Class> Failure of power steering pressure modulating (driving pin) causes hard steering and limited steering wheel operation.

2004-2006 Galant> Ignition key interlock fails and allows the ignition key to be removed from the ignition switch when the gearshift mechanism is not in the park position.
2004-2008 Endeavor> Failure of the ignition key interlock system makes it possible for the key to be removed while the vehicle is still in gear, allowing the vehicle to roll away.
2005-2007 Endeavor, Galant, Eclipse Coupe; 07 Eclipse Spyder> Left rear fuel tank strap mounting bracket breaks at the bolt hole allowing the tank to come loose in a crash.
2006-2007 Endeavor> Right side lower seat belt anchor may separate during a severe vehicle crash.
2007-2008 Outlander> Brake lamp switch malfunction causes the LED-type stop lamps to not illuminate.

2007-2008 Altima, Altima Hybrid, G35 sedan, 350Z, 350Z Roadster; 2008 Altima Coupe, Rogue; G37 coupe, EX35; 2009 Murano, Infiniti> Failure of the passenger seat occupant sensor (located in the seat cushion) prevents the airbag from deploying.
2007-2008 Sentra> Internal seal leak inside the master cylinder (Bosch brand) lets brake fluid leak into the brake power booster causing loss of some braking function.
2008 Altima> Improperly torqued front suspension left side transverse link bolt comes loose and prevents the vehicle from been steered.
2008 Armada, Quest, Titan> Front seat manual adjustment pawl doesn’t fully engage increasing the risk of personal injuries in a crash.
2008 Infiniti EX35 2009 Murano> Software glitch in the airbag control module prevents the airbag from deploying if the car battery isn’t fully charged.
2009 Altima> Lug nuts comes loose from the 16-inch alloy wheels because of incorrect manufacture of the wheels.

2008 Cayenne V6> A fuel line in the plenum panel chafes against the rear engine compartment cover causing a gas leak and engine compartment fire.

2003-2005 Range Rover> Misalignment of the front propeller shaft differential coupling sleeve causes accelerated wear and shearing of the driveshaft spline resulting in sudden loss of power. Note: This is proceeded by noise and vibration. Dealers will install a upgraded propeller shaft, flange and heat shield kit.
2005-2006 Land Rover LR3, Range Rover Sport> Insufficient clearance between the steering column cowl and the air bag clockspring face causes the wiring connector to break resulting in loss of proper airbag function and SRS warning light illumination.
2008 Land Rover LR2> Failure of the sunroof panel guide rail causes the glass sunroof to detach from the vehicle.
Saab
2002-2008 9-5> A-pillar trim doesn’t meet DOT safety requirements in energy absorbing head restraint.
Subaru
2002-2003 Impreza> Stud bolt(s) of the rear gate stay come loose resulting in a gap between the rear gate panel and stud bolt base. Repeated opening and closing causes the nut at the rear gate inner panel to break and the rear gate drops down which may cause personal injury.
2007-2008 Legacy; 2008 Impreza; 2009 Forester> Improperly assembled and vibration cracks the cylinder head-side oil supply pipe and turbocharger-side pipe allowing oil to leak causing an engine compartment fire could occur. Dealers will install an upgraded pipe assembly and an additional bracket to increase rigidity.
2008-2009 Tribeca> Improperly installed Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) G-Sensor affects vehicle handling during hard braking, sudden turns, or other quick maneuvers causing unstable handling of the vehicle respond in an unexpected manner.
Toyota
2003-2004 Corolla, Matrix> Front door power window bolts come loose and the door glass separates from the window regulator, binds and shatters during operation.
2004-2006 Sienna with power rear liftgate struts> Failure of the liftgate gas struts allow the liftgate to suddenly drop on someone’s head.
2008 Highlander, Highlander Hybrid> Third row seat belt assembly fails to lock and hold, and will spool out when used in conjunction with a child restraint system.

1996-2003 Audi A8> Shifter locking cable moves out of place allowing the shift lever to be moved out of park when the ignition is still locked.
1999-2005 Passat> 1) Underbody heat shield for vehicles for the automatic transmission contacts the exhaust system. 2) The 1.8 liter engine fuel line leaks fuel. 3) 4Motion All Wheel Drive fuel tank ventilation valve leak fuel. All three problems cause vehicle fires.
2001-2004 Audi A6 Quattro 2.7L, 2.8L, or 3.0L engine; 2001-2005 Audi Allroad Quattro 2.7L or 4.2L engines> Cracks in the nipple on the plastic fuel tank rollover valve leaks fuel.
2004-2005 New Beetle> Faulty frontal crash sensors causes the advanced (dual-stage) air bag system t deploy with full force causing injury to unbelted occupant.
2008 Audi TT> In the event of a crash the C-pillar trim clips fail to hold the cover and it may injure the front seat occupants.
2008 New Beetle Special Edition Triple White Sedans> Adhesive attaching the roof spoiler to the rear glass fails allowing the spoiler to come loose without warning.
2008 Passat; 2009 Tiguan (2.0T FSI ULEV II engine)> ECM software glitch causes unintentional engine RPM surge when the A/C is switched on.
2008 Touareg> Leaking fuel supply line can cause a fire.
2009 Passat, Passat Wagon, Passat CC> Failed capacitor in the electromechanical steering gear control unit (drive-by-wire) keeps the driver's steering input from being processed by the system and the vehicle doesn’t respond to steering input. Note: this can only occur immediately after start-up when the steering wheel is moved for the first time and at speeds less than 5 MPH.

Big Bear Choppers 2004-2005 Devils Advocate, Venom; 2005 Sled> Weak welds between the frame neck, backbone, and down tubes crack causing steering column neck separation and front end collapse. Note: Incorrectly torques top motor mount may exacerbate the problem.
BMW 2007 G650X Challenge, G650X Country, G650X Moto> Damaged fuel lines leak fuel.
BMW 2007-2008 F800S, F800ST> Failure of the fuel tank pressure control hose causes the tank to expand enough to rub against the rear wheel causing a gas leak.
BMW 2007-2008 R1200R; 2006-2007 R1200GS; 2007 R1200ST> Front brake lines split and leak brake fluid causing loss of front brakes.
BMW 2008 K1200S, K1200 GT> 1) Engine block oil passageway set screw comes loose or wasn’t installed causing oil pressure loss and catastrophic engine failure. 2) Failure of the front disc brake fasteners results in loss of front brakes.
BMW: 2005-2006 HP2 Enduro> Loose fastener for the paralever link allows the final drive to come loose causing loss of control.
BMW: 2007 F800 S, F800 ST, R1200 R, K1200 S, K1200 R, K1200 R SPORT, K1200 GT> Steering damper becomes stiff making it difficult to steer.
BMW: 2008 R1200 R, R1200 GS, R1200 GS Adventure> The intermediate transmission shaft breaks causing the transmission to seize causing wheel lockup or oil getting on the rear wheel.
Buell 2008 1125R> Lack of lubrication causes 5th the gear to seize on the clutch shaft resulting in rear wheel lock-up.
Buell: 2007-2008 Blast> High heat conditions causes the gas tank to expand and rub against the cylinder head resulting in a leak.
Buell: 2008-2008 XB12XT; 2009 XB12XP> Windshields can come off at high speed.
Buell: 2009 1125CR> Rear cylinder cam chain tension guide comes apart allowing plastic to enter the oil system leading to sudden engine seizure.
Ducati 2007-2008 1098, 1098S, 1098 Tricolore> Failure of the rear drive sprocket causes sudden loss of power and/or drive chain tangling in the wheel spokes.
Ducati: 2007-2008 1098, 1098S, 1098 TRICOLORE, 1098R; 2008-2009 848> Engine heat stops the voltage regulator from charging. Dealers will replace the voltage regulator and install a heat shield.
Ducati: 2008 Desmosedici RR> Loose clamps for the fuel tank drain and breather hoses cause fuel leaks.
Harley Davidson: 2008 FLHP, FLHPE, FLHR, FLHRC, FLHRSE4, FLHT, FLHTC, FLHTCU, FLHTCUSE3, FLHTP, FLHX, AND FLTR> Fuel filter shell (in the tank) cracks open allowing fuel pressure loss and sudden power loss or engine stall.
Harley-Davidson 2005-2007 FLHP, FLHPI, FLHTP, FLHTPI, FLHPE, FLHPEI (w/ABS)> Abrasion of the brake lines and hoses causes brake fluid leaks and loss of brake function. Dealers will install brake line retention and clutch cable positioning devices to prevent abrasion.
